Friday Folder
Each Friday the students will bring home a large manila envelope containing
the graded work they have received during the week. Also any fliers which are
distributed by the office will be included.
It is suggested that the parents go over the contents of the envelope on
Friday evening and help their child set out a schedule for any activities that
need to be completed. The folder and the reaction sheet is
to return to school on Monday.
Friday Notes
Each Friday you will receive a letter called What’s Happening to
inform you about how things are going in the classroom.
There are three boxes at the bottom. The first is where the student
indicates what they have accomplished this week and sets goals for the next
week. The second is for me to provide my reaction to the student’s
accomplishments. The third is for you to write your opinion of how things are
going. You may use this space to compliment your child on a well-done
assignment or to communicate with me about issues at home. Please at least sign
this box so your child can return it to school on Monday with the empty Friday
folder.
In the folder that this note comes home in are all of the assignments that
have been graded for the week. Explanations of grading procedures appear in
other parts of the Fifth Grade Handbook.
